00' Eclipse questions

Was scoping out craigslist and came across this:

Only has 105k and looks fairly decent.
Ad says that the timing belt is the only thing wrong, which I'm not sure I believe but I may go check it out.
My question is what do you guys think? Worth $550?

I have contemplated that car for a few weeks, but i just cant part with my baby... Imho if you want another project, as long as there is no rust/rot on the car it is a hell of a deal. If the timing went guaranteed the engine is trash. If its the 6 cyl 6g73 the engines are cheap you can pick them up for $300 then do a timing belt and head gasket (another $200 in parts). if its the 4 cyl 2.4l 4g64 the same applies but the engines are a little more. Either way the 3g's still bring a pretty penny when they sell...

Yeah I was thinking that if it all goes well i can get rid of the mustang and sport this little monster, the rwd has almost gotten me killed several times and it's about to start snowing. I figure if I can get this car I can finish it by summer and I'll have a decent vehicle to boost (after I get a new job of course.) I'll definitely talk him down tho, hehe.

if it's a 2.4L plan on ditching the engine, I'll guarantee the valves are shot and the main bearings are smooshed...

Logic dictates that the car was running when the timing belt belt broke there for the engine was turning and the valves stopped turning and everything went poop...

If the body and the interior is mint and it's a 5-speed, I'd pay $400-500 for it.

Rebuild the bottom end and get an Evo 8 Head and turbo set up and you'll have a bad ass 3rd Gen...

That was my plan for my 3rd Gen before I got rear-ended...

I was waiting for you to comment the body looks good, has a kit on it that looks pretty nice, I'm probly gonna check it out. Off the top of your head how much will i pay for an evo 8 head?
